HTMA Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis
Discover your mineral balance, nutrient patterns and potential toxic element exposure.
Service Description
Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a simple, non-invasive laboratory test that measures the levels and patterns of essential minerals and selected toxic elements present in a small sample of hair. Minerals play an important role in energy production, nervous system function, thyroid and adrenal health, blood sugar regulation, bone health and many other processes throughout the body. Rather than looking at individual minerals alone, HTMA also allows us to explore the relationships and ratios between minerals, which can provide additional insight into your overall mineral balance. The test may assess important minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, zinc, copper, iron and manganese, alongside potentially toxic elements such as mercury, lead, arsenic and aluminium. HTMA can be particularly useful when investigating concerns such as fatigue, stress resilience, poor energy, mineral imbalances or possible environmental exposure. Your results are interpreted alongside your symptoms, health history, diet and other testing to help guide personalised nutrition, lifestyle and supplementation recommendations. Testing requires only a small sample of hair, making it a convenient and non-invasive option for both adults and children.
